Paula Knorr — Fall/Winter 2018

This season, Paula Knorr channels intimacy and female identity in sensational form. The dresses and suits showcased each adopted a very intricate sense of the creator’s grounding for the collection. The presentation spoke subtly of these themes, illustrated further by Jazz Singer Laura Totenhagen, as she recites poetry above music.

By applying her signature cutting methods, Knorr deconstructs the technical characteristics of an evening dress to perform as a comfortable, yet powerful impression on womenswear. Seductive red tones of layered tulle and sequin embellished fabrics held a suggestive quality. When crafted with draped sleeves and daring necklines, the couture is transformed. Metallic hues and blush blues equally accentuated the female form within this presentation. Reflective textures interacted with the models skin, bringing forward a sense of abstraction to this beauty. This is further communicated with Knorr’s translation of luxury in fashion.
